Ministries

As we grow in the Word of God, (here at West Village Christian Church), we are challenged to be servants, to be active in ministry, to have a purpose, and to be mission minded.

God wants us to have ministries that are "bigger than ourselves". That ministry then becomes a "God thing", and He can use us to further His Kingdom and to touch lost souls.

5th Quarter

5th Quarter is an exciting ministry of our Church. Four or five times a year, we host an after-game get-together in the Church parking lot, the Exhibition Building in albion, or on the Albion Square. We start around 8:30 p.m. and end at 10:45 p.m. on Friday evenings.

Apart from the fun, games, and food we all enjoy, we provide a safe environment for a fun time with friends.

Every 5th Quarter provides a challenging word from God's Word, Christian music, Christian bands, and a great Christian environment.

Our Missions

Our missionary outreach includes traveling work groups and misson offerings for use in our county (Edwards), the USA, and throughout the world; through mission offerings that are received on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

We are committed to the mission of our King:

"...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." - Matthew 28:19-20a

The following groups are financially supported and helped by WVCC:

Christian Student Fellowship (SIUE)

Training Christian students for a lifetime of service, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Thy Word Network (Christian Radio Station)

WBJW 91.7FM

W.A.D.I.

WVCC collects food items for use in Edwards County, and sometimes in Grayville and Cowling.

Edwards County Senior Citizens Center

Providing needed services for those in Edwards County over 60 years old.

Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch

For operating expenses for each home. SCCR has meant a great deal to many of us here, having developed a great relationship with the staff and kids. Trips are planned for work projects at least twice a year.

The Guardian Centre, Inc.

This is a non-profit child advocacy centre providing confidential services to children and families affected by sexual abuse and severe physical abuse in Edwards, Gallatin, Saline, Wabash, and White counties.

Oblong Children's Christian Home

For operating expenses of each home.

Tim and Erin MacSaveny

Tim and Erin plan on long-term mission work on the foreign field. Both recently graduated from Johnson Bible College (2005), they have been preparing for cross-cultural work with Pioneer Translators; having just returned from a summer in Africa.
